Note: For diwali pooja of Lakshmi, always use new idol or paper print of Lakshmiji. The pooja is considered valid if you have new pratima of Devi Lakshmi.
For New Pratima, usually a "pana" / paper print is considered good for pooja as it is disposable. 
 
The following things will be sent along withpooja
 
 
Lakshmi Puja Samagri (सामग्री)
Following items, which are needed during five days Diwali Puja, should be collected before Diwali. This list doesn't include daily Puja items but it lists only those items which are needed especially for Diwali Puja.
  1. New paper print of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi
  2. Bahi-Khata with steps and mantra
  3. One red silk cloth for Goddess Lakshmi, One yellow cloth
  4. One red cloth for God's Aasan (seating)
  5. Deepak Big -1
  6. Small Deepak - 3
  7. One new earthen Kalash
  8. Bilva-leaves and Tulsi-leaves
  9. White Naivedhya and yellow Naivedhya 
  10. Sweet Paan (3)
  11. Duba (दूब) - Durva grass
  12. Pancha Pallav(पञ्च पल्लव) - twigs of following five trees
    • Mango
    • Palash
    • Banyan
    • Peepal
    • Bakul
  13. Sarvoshadhi (सर्वौषधि) – ten following herbs
    • Mura (मुरा)
    • Jatamasi (जटामासी)
    • Bach (बच)
    • Kushtha (कुष्ठ)
    • Shaileya (शैलेय)
    • Haradi (हरदी)
    • Daru-Haradi (दारु-हरदी)
    • Soonthi (सूंठी)
    • Champak (चम्पक)
    • Musta (मुस्ता)
  14. Sapt-Mritika (सप्त-मृत्तिका)-
       mud
If some of the items are not available then Akshata can be used in place of missing item as a remedy.
 
1. Dhyana (ध्यान)
Puja should begin with the meditation of Bhagawati Lakshmi. Dhyan should be done in front of already installed Shri Lakshmi statue in front of you. Following Mantra should be chanted while meditating on Bhagawati Shri Lakshmi.
